Upcoming car launches in April 2023
The month of April is here and we're all excited to check out some of the hottest car launches. The extremely awaited Maruti Suzuki Fronx will be launched this month as well as the small electric hatch from MG. Let's out some of the upcoming launches in April 2023
Maruti Suzuki Fronx:The Fronx is a small coupe crossover based on the Baleno hatchback that, notably, brings back a turbo-petrol engine to Maruti's portfolio after the Baleno RS was discontinued. The crossover debuted at the 2023 Auto Fair and is now available for booking for exhibition. The Fronx has a nine-inch touchscreen, a wireless charger, paddle shifters, six airbags, and a 360-degree camera.
The highlight of the upcoming Fronx will be the 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, turbocharged Boosterjet petrol engine producing 100PS and 148Nm of torque. This motor will be mated to a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. In addition, Maruti will offer a 1.2-litre, inline-four, naturally aspirated Dual Jet and Dual VVT petrol unit that makes 90PS and 113Nm of torque. This engine will be paired with a five-speed manual or AMT transmission. It is to be noted that the 1.0-litre Boosterjet is linked to a progressive smart hybrid technology.
Lamborghini Urus S:The Lamborghini SUV is getting a facelift in the shape of a new 'S' model, which will have some minor and more aggressive-looking external design changes. The suspension configuration is one of the biggest differences between the 'S ' and 'Performante' variants. Although the Urus Performante switched to a set of sporty, lowered, fixed coil springs for much more aggressive handling, the Urus S keeps the previous adaptive air suspension. This ought to provide the SUV with a more comfortable ride overall in addition to enabling a higher ride height and the possibility to elevate it for very hazardous terrain.
The 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8's power was increased by the Urus Performante from 650PS to 666PS while the torque stayed at 850 Nm, and the Urus S now features this revised engine configuration. The Urus S's 0-100kmph time has been lowered from 3.6 seconds to 3.5 seconds and all four wheels are still powered by an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
MG Comet EV:The Comet EV will be MG's second all-electric car in India, following the ZS EV, however, it will be primarily marketed as an urban commuter. Its small size, two-door body type, and futuristic design components give it a unique appearance.
The Comet EV is said to be the rebadged version of the Wulling Air EV. Meanwhile, the Comet EV is expected to be powered by a 20kWh-25kWh battery pack. It could have a range between 200km and 300km.
Citroen C3 Aircross:Citroen has stated that their new SUV for India would be unveiled on April 27. It is anticipated to be a small SUV with three rows of seats.
The Citroen SUV may be derived from the C3 hatchback, but it'll look quite different. The new midsize SUV is expected to measure around 4.2 metres in length and as per spy images, two and three-row seating layouts will be an option.
The upcoming SUV should get the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that's offered on the range-topping C3 Feel Turbo variant and produces 110PS and 190 Nm of torque. We do expect to see a tuned version of this engine though as it could be underpowered for a bigger vehicle. We also expect a new transmission to debut on the new SUV as the C3 hatchback is not offered with an automatic.
Mercedes-AMG GT63 S e-performance:The GT63 S e-performance 4-door coupe is AMG's first plug-in hybrid and Mercedes' most powerful production vehicle.
Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance houses the famous 4.0 litre V8 biturbo engine from AMG, is combined with an electric motor to produce a staggering 855PS and a maximum torque of 1400 Nm. The electric motor itself in the GT 63 S E Performance produces 207PS and 320 Nm of torque.
The AMG GT 63 S E Performance comes equipped with AMG RIDE CONTROL+ suspension with a new dampening system. The modified AMG ceramic high-performance composite braking system and the MBUX multimedia system with unique hybrid displays are also standard.
