Upcoming car launches in April 2024
The Indian automobile business currently has a lot of anticipation as numerous manufacturers prepare to launch new models in April. While some organizations have already revealed information about the event on their social media sites, others are keeping it quiet to generate more excitement among consumers. Let's take a quick look at what are the cars set to debut in April 2024.
Skoda is bringing back the Superb in India. According to the most recent update, the brand's flagship sedan will most likely debut on April 3, 2024. After removing the Superb from the market in the first half of 2023, Skoda intends to reintroduce it, although through the CBU approach. The new-generation sedan will continue to be available solely in petrol, having previously been equipped with a 2-litre turbo-petrol engine making 190PS and 320 Nm of torque. It comes equipped with a 7-speed DCT dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The upcoming Skoda Superb is likely to arrive with more features than the previous-generation vehicle, which offered features including an 8-inch touchscreen, heated front seats, 8 airbags, and a 360-degree camera.
Toyota Taisor
Toyota has issued a teaser for its future small crossover, the Urban Cruiser Taisor, a rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. It'll be unveiled on April 3, 2024. The design is also likely to be mostly identical, with minor differences to separate it from its Maruti cousin. The Taisor is expected to offer the same powertrain options as the Maruti Fronx. This includes a choice between a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine generating 100PS and 148Nm of torque, and a 1.2-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 90PS and 113Nm of torque. Transmission options are likely to include a five-speed manual, a five-speed AMT, and a six-speed torque converter automatic. Toyota is likely to equip it with the same amenities as the Fronx, including a 9-inch touchscreen, wireless phone charging, six airbags, and a 360-degree camera.
Mahindra XUV300 facelift
Mahindra is yet to confirm the official launch date for the XUV300 facelift. The tiny SUV has been spotted testing on Indian roads several times in recent months. It will undergo significant outward and interior style improvements, as well as extra onboard amenities.
The engine options will remain the same and comprise a 110PS 1.2-litre turbo-petrol, a 130PS 1.2-litre T-GDI turbo-petrol, and a 117PS 1.5-litre diesel. All engines come standard with a 6-speed manual transmission, with an optional 6-speed AMT available for turbo-petrol and diesel engines. In addition, Mahindra may include new amenities in the XUV300 such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen, fully digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charging, ventilated front seats, and, most likely, a 360-degree camera.
Force Gurkha 5-door
Force Motors has published a teaser for the Gurkha 5-door. While the launch is set for mid-2024, the 5-door variant might be shown this month. Power is expected to come from the same 2.6-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel engine rated at 91PS and 250 Nm of peak torque. The engine will be combined with a 5-speed manual transmission and obviously, 4x4 capabilities. The cabin is expected to stay essentially the same, with perhaps a few minor modifications. Expect a decent second bench or captain chairs, and a useable boot room keeping in mind the 5-door will be about 400mm longer. Force Motors might add extra creature amenities to the 5-door variant, which is expected to be targeted at family shoppers.
