Upcoming new Tata SUV launches in the coming months
Indian automaker Tata Motors has been working on several new vehicles, and most of its upcoming cars are much-anticipated facelifts of the existing models. Spotted testing on multiple occasions, these facelifts include the Safari, Harrier, and Nexon. With the major Indian festivals just around the corner, various car manufacturers are gearing up to introduce numerous offerings, and Tata Motors is no exception. Here is a list of upcoming Tata SUVs that could hit the market in the coming months.
Tata's flagship offering, the Safari, has been frequently spotted in test mules, showcasing a new face, redesigned rear end, and a fresh set of alloy wheels. The Harrier, on the other hand, has also been seen undergoing tests with revamped front and rear designs. The mid-life facelift of both the Safari and Harrier is expected to bring significant changes to their appearance, particularly in the front fascia. Based on spy photos, both SUVs might feature a full-length light bar at the front, vertically stacked LED lights, re-profiled taillights with a light stripe, new bumpers, and newly designed alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, the Safari and Harrier facelifts are likely to receive updates, such as a new steering wheel, reworked dashboard, redesigned center console with a Range Rover-inspired gear selector, and possibly additional features. Further, Tata could enhance their Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite with more functionalities, including adaptive cruise control. While the 2.0-litre diesel engine will continue to power these models, the facelifts may also debut a new 1.5-litre turbo petrol unit. Both SUV could be launched in the coming months.
Tata Nexon Facelift:Similar to the Safari and Harrier facelifts, the fully camouflaged test mules of the updated Nexon continue to be spotted. This highly sought-after compact SUV is due for a significant update that will give it a refreshed look inside and out, along with the addition of new features. The Nexon facelift, likely to arrive by this year, is expected to draw design inspiration from the Curvv concept showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo, possibly incorporating a full-length light bar at the front and rear, redesigned lights, new bumpers, and fresh alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, the Nexon is likely to receive a refreshed look with a new steering wheel, revamped dashboard, and center console. The Nexon facelift is said to come with a new 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo, while the diesel motor will remain unchanged.
Tata Punch CNG:
The launch of the Punch CNG has been awaited for a long time, especially with the Hyundai already introducing its Exter CNG. The Punch CNG, first seen at the Auto Expo 2023 alongside the Altroz CNG with a twin-cylinder setup, is expected to offer extra boot space compared to the conventional single-cylinder CNG tank setup. Similar to the Altroz CNG, the upcoming Punch CNG will feature a twin-cylinder system linked to its 1.2-litre NA petrol engine. There are also speculations that the Punch could come with an electric sunroof.
Tata Nexon EV Facelift and Tata Punch EV:In addition to the major launches, Tata is likely to introduce the refreshed Nexon EV, followed by the ICE Nexon facelift, by the end of this year. As one of the top-selling EVs in the country, the Nexon EV is expected to receive updates similar to its ICE counterpart, including a redesigned front and rear end, a fresh interior, distinctive alloy wheels, and perhaps more features. Moreover, Tata has been working on the long-awaited Punch EV, which is set to become the third EV from the carmaker after the Nexon EV, Tiago EV, and Tigor EV. The SUV could benefit from a setup similar to the Tiago EV, offering a sub-250km range. The carmaker may introduce it later this year, and upon launch, it will rival the Citroen eC3.
