Upcoming sport bikes expected to launch in India by end of 2020

Coronavirus pandemic has brought everything across the globe to a standstill. The COVID-19 spread has affected all forms of trade and business, manufacturers have stopped production and the dealers are also helpless at this point of time. The lockdown has forced manufacturers to launch their products digitally and most of them have shifted focus to battling the COVID-19. Hopefully, the situation will be better in a few months and we will be seeing bikemakers at full swing and many launches that have been delayed because of the novel Coronavirus. Here is a peek at the upcoming sport bikes in India.

Aprilia RS 150

When? Q3 2020

Est. Price: ₹1.6-1.9 lakh

The Aprilia RS 150 is a down-sized version of the RSV4 and is inspired by its elder sibling, it is powered by a 150cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled engine mated to a six-speed gearbox that makes a maximum power of around 18.25PS with 14Nm of peak torque. The RS 150 will lock horns with the Yamaha R15 V3.

Aprilia RS 660

When? Q3 2020

Est. Price: ₹14-19 lakh
The bike was first seen at the EICMA 2019 and it will make its way to India around the festive season. The bike features a double fairing design that helps with improved stability at high speeds. The bike is powered by a 660 cc liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine that pushes a good 101PS of power. It gets electronic nannies like traction control, wheelie control, cruise control and cornering ABS. It also offers five riding modes - commute, dynamic, individual, challenge and time attack.

Honda CBR500R

When? Q3-Q4 2020

Est. Price: ₹5-6 lakh
Honda has big plans to launch the 500cc segment bikes in India and the CB500R will also be a part of that fleet. The bike was first seen at EICMA 2019 with the CB500X and CB500F. It houses a 471cc liquid-cooled engine paired with a six-speed gearbox that delivers 47PS of power and 43Nm of torque. The bike gets LED headlamp, tail lamp and indicators, a fully digital instrument cluster and a 17-litre fuel tank. It also comes with dual-channel ABS and engine immobiliser.

Honda CBR 650R

When? Q3-Q4 2020

Est. Price: ₹8-10 lakh
The bike was launched in 2019 April and it has quite a following. The 2020 model will be powered by BSVI compliant 649cc liquid-cooled, four-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed gearbox. The power figures may change because of the transition, the current model makes 60.1Nm of torque and 88PS of power. The bike gets dual LED headlights and an LCD dash. It is available in two colours â€" Grand Prix Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic

Ducati Panigale V2

When? Q3 2020

Est. Price: ₹14-19 lakh
We rode this one last year and we will be seeing this bike soon this year. It looks a lot like the V4 but it can be differentiated by the fairing, exhaust design and the side-mounted monoshock borrowed from the 959. It gets the V shape day time running lamp strip and it borrows the 4.3-inch TFT from the V4. It also gets V4's single-sided swingarm and the short underslung exhaust. It makes 155PS of power and 104Nm of torque and it weighs 200kg, courtesy goes to the 955cc V-twin engine. The electronic nannies include Bosch-sourced six-axis IMU which is responsible for the cornering ABS and wheelie control. It also gets traction control, a bi-directional quickshifter, engine brake control and three riding modes â€" Race, Sport and Street

Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade

When? Q4 2020

Est. Price: ₹24-28 lakh

The bike was initially unveiled at EICMA 2019 and it is likely to make its way to our shores by the end of this year. The bike gets stylish LED headlamps divided by a central ram-air duct. The fairing gets winglets that creates downforce. It is powered by a 999.9cc liquid-cooled, in-line, four-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed transmission that pushes a manic 216PS of power and makes a maximum torque of 113Nm. And the bike weighs 201kg. That is insane power to weight ratio. It gets nine levels or traction control, launch control, ABS and a 5-inch TFT dash.
