Updated BYD Atto 3 launched at Rs 24.99 lakh
BYD India has updated the Atto 3 SUV and the car now starts at Rs 24.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The BYD Atto 3 is now offered in Dynamic, Premium and Superior variants and now comes with more features and a new exterior colour to choose from.
The biggest talking point is the new Dynamic variant that makes the Atto 3 a more affordable prospect. This new variant features a smaller 49.92kWh battery pack that has a range of 468 kilometres (ARAI). The Premium and Superior variants continue with the larger 60.48kWh battery unit that has a driving range of 521 kilometres (ARAI) on a single charge.
BYD claims that regardless of the variant, both batteries can charge from 0 to 80 percent in just 50 minutes using a fast charger. The Atto 3 produces 204PS and 310Nm of torque.
The BYD Atto 3 now has a new colour choice called Cosmos Black in addition to the new variant. As a result, the Atto 3 is now available in four colours: Surf Blue, Boulder Grey, Ski White, and Boulder Grey. The Dynamic variant comes with a set of 17-inch alloy wheels as compared to the 18-inch on the latter two variants.
Even with the massive price drop, the Atto 3 even in its base spec continues to come loaded. It gets a large rotatable 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument panel, wireless charger, 360-degree surround camera, ventilated and powered front seats, keyless entry and start, 6-speaker audio setup and a panoramic sunroof. The Premium variant benefits from an electric tailgate, multi-colour ambient lighting, an 8-speaker sound system and an 80kW DC charging port (70kW on the base variant).
The Superior variant gets the addition of ADAS and adaptive headlights. Safety features such as 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability program, tyre pressure monitoring system, ISOFIX mounts, and hill descent control are standard.
With the availability of a new base variant, the BYD Atto 3 can now compete with the top-spec variant of the MG ZS EV which is priced at 25.20 lakh (ex-showroom). It will also lock horns with the upcoming EVs from Hyundai, Tata and Mahindra.
