Volkswagen ID.4 will be the first EV offering from VW India
During its annual conference, Volkswagen unveiled the ID.4 for the first time in India, highlighting its electrification intentions. The car will be on the market in the second half of 2024 and will initially come via the CBU route.
The model comes with features like 20-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, LED tail lights, an LED light strip running the length of the boot lid, LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, an LED light strip behind the VW logo, vertically mounted LED fog lights, a wide air dam, and a dual-tone rear bumper with a number plate recess. It also has a dual-tone front bumper with a number plate recess and a silver-coloured faux skid plate.
A 77kWh battery pack with a stated range of 480km lies at the centre of the Volkswagen ID.4 in the GTX variant. The total power of the two electric motors is 299PS and 310Nm of torque. While AC charging is available everywhere as normal, DC fast charging charges the battery in just 35 minutes.
The Volkswagen ID.4 GTX's interior has an all-black interior design, a floating touchscreen infotainment system, and a completely digital instrument panel. The vehicle also boasts features like ambient lighting, three-zone climate control, 12-way power front seats, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
When launched in India, the Volkswagen ID.4 should be priced at around Rs 50 to 55 lakh in India. It will rival the likes of the Kia EV6 as well as the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Volvo XC40 Recharge and the upcoming Skoda Enyaq iV.
