Volkswagen T-Roc to be relaunched in India on April 1
Volkswagen will launch the Volkswagen T-Roc crossover again in India on April 1. The T-Roc had gone on sale in India in March 2020 as a limited-run model with 1,000 units available. This short run was sold out a few months later and Volkswagen is now set to bring in the next lot of cars. These will continue to be CBUs and come in limited numbers again. A price increase over the earlier 19.99 lakh is expected, with the new price rumoured to be Rs 21.35 lakh, ex-showroom.
The 2021 Volkswagen T-Roc should remain mechanically identical to the earlier car. The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine good for 150PS and 250 Nm will continue and be shared with the Creta-rivalling Volkswagen Taigun. The motor will come paired with a 7-speed DCT. Volkswagen claims a 0 to 100kmph time of 8.4s and a top speed of 205kmph.
Notable features on the India-spec T-Roc will be a panoramic sunroof, 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlamps, DRLs and tail lamps, leather seats and the digital instrument cluster that debuted on the Tiguan Allspace. Safety features include six airbags, hill start assist, ESP and so on. There should be six colour options available, five dual-tone and one single-tone shade. Dimensionally, the T-Roc is 4,234mm long, 1,992mm wide and 1,573mm tall. The wheelbase is 2,590mm.
With these numbers, the T-Roc will compete with the likes of the higher-spec Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta and the Jeep Compass.
