Volkswagen Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition, prices start from Rs 16.30 lakh
Volkswagen India has launched the Trail Edition of its flagship SUV Taigun at a starting price of Rs 16.30 lakh (ex-showroom). The Trail Edition variation, based on the SUV's top-spec GT version, has moved to the top of the list and will be offered in limited quantities.
The GT Edge Trail Edition is just cosmetically different from the basic Taigun. The tailgate has a 'Trail' insignia, custom decals on the rear fenders, doors, and C-pillars, functioning roof rails, blacked-out 17-inch alloy wheels, and red-finished front brake callipers. Carbon Steel Grey, Reflex Silver, and Candy White are among the exterior paint colours available.
The cabin of the Taigun Trail Edition has visual upgrades as well, including 3D floor mats, leatherette seat coverings with Trail badging, and SS foot pedals. The rest of the cabin remains unchanged. The Trail Edition is available on the Taigun 1.5 GT model, which comes with a slew of extras. The 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, ambient lighting, electric sunroof, multi-function steering wheel, reverse parking camera, SC, TPMS, and active cylinder management technology (ACT) are all part of the package.
This slightly tougher version of the Volkswagen Taigun SUV is based on the GT trim level. The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine will power the Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition. This engine produces 150PSP and 250 Nm and is available with only a 6-speed manual on offer.
The Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, and Honda Elevate continue to compete with the Taigun. The Volkswagen Taigun range in India starts from Rs 11.62 lakh (ex-showroom).
