Volkswagen Virtus and Taigun to get new variants and colours from June
Volkswagen India has just introduced additional powertrain options for its Virtus and Taigun GT range. in an attempt to please the enthusiasts of the country, Volkswagen has introduced a new manual variant of the Virtus 1.5 TSI. For the Taigun, VW has now introduced two new variants on the Taigun 1.5 TSI âÂ" GT Plus with a manual and GT with the dual-clutch gearbox (DSG).
These new variants will be made available from June 2023.
Volkswagen Virtus 1.5 TSI MT variant:The Virtus was the only India 2.0 model without a manual transmission paired to the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. That is changing though, as theÃÂ 150PS and 250Nm, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine will now be available with the 6-speed manual transmission. The Virtus 1.5 TSI MT will be available solely in the top-spec GT Plus trim, and the GT Line treatment, which includes GT logos and blacked-out alloys, will also be carried over for the new manual models.
VW will also release a new 'GT Edge Limited Collection' Virtus GT Plus in manual and automatic transmissions. The special edition units will be produced in limited quantities and will feature a distinctive 'Deep Black Pearl' finish. All VW Virtus models will also get a new 'Lava Blue' paint colour.
Volkswagen Taigun 1.5 TSI variant:
Volkswagen unveiled the Taigun 1.5-litre TSI DSG in GT trim, while the manual 'box will be available in GT Plus trim. Volkswagen has expanded the appeal and availability of the Taigun 1.5 TSI by adding a manual and DSG transmission to both grades.
Volkswagen debuted the 'GT Edge Limited Collection' in the Taigun too with 'Deep Black Pearl' as well as 'Carbon Steel Matte'. In addition, all Taigun models will receive the new 'Lava Blue' paint colour as well.
There were also two designs on exhibit as prospective 'GT Limited Collection' additions with visual differences. The Trail Concept has body graphics on the back three-quarters of the SUV, a roof rack, and black alloy wheels.
The Sport Concept, on the other hand, features TSI stickers on the rear doors and chequered flag-inspired graphics on the bottom half of the doors and rear fender.
Volkswagen Virtus and Taigun prices:
The Volkswagen Virtus range currently starts from Rs 11.49 lakh and rises up to Rs 18.56 lakh. The Taigun range begins from Rs 11.61 lakh and goes up to Rs 19.05 lakh. With the addition of these new variants expect the starting prices into the 1.5-litre TSI engine to be more affordable. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom.
