What is the 2023 KTM Super Duke 1290 RR

The Austrian manufacturer has unveiled the limited-edition (500 bikes) 2023 MY 1290 Super Duke RR for markets abroad and no, this track-obliterating weaponry will not arrive in India. Moving past the pain of missing out on this KTM, here's what sets it apart from the regular versions.

The RR's styling is quite similar to the standard variant with the split headlamp, sharp tank design, carbon fibre subframe with single seat and single-sided swingarm, but this one gets the black and carbon treatment with the trademark orange accents. The bike gets a steering damper and adjustable suspension setup which includes a WP APEX PRO Close cartridge front fork and WP APEX PRO rear shock.

After slapping on all those carbon fibre bits, the 2023 Super Duke RR is 11kg lighter than before giving it a power to weight ratio of 1:1, and if you don't know what that means, well let's just say that this thing is blinking fast! KTM have even thrown in an Akrapovi slip-on exhaust system so you're really set to get this show on the road.

The 2023 RR continues to be powered by the 1,301cc, V-twin, liquid-cooled engine that delivers a maximum output of 179.5PS and a peak torque of 140Nm. Still enough shove to get you past all that annoying traffic out on the track.

The 2023 1290 Super Duke RR comes with the kitchen sink of rider aids and even gets the Track pack as standard (which is an extra on the standard model).
