Yokohama India launches two new tyre patterns for India
Japanese tyre manufacturer Yokohama launched two new tyre patterns âÂ" Advan V105 and Geolander SUV âÂ" for the Indian market. The V105 pattern would cater to the luxury segment of cars, while the Geolander will suit best for a city SUV.
Yokohama's "orange oil" technology present in both itsÃÂ latest offerings provides them with higher fuel efficiency, superior wet grip and longer tread life. They claim to achieve all these features by reducing petroleum oil as tyre ingredient.
The Advan V105 would comprise of a specialized new compound which would control excessive heat for wet grip and longer mileage. Catering to the luxury segment, company claims that the tyre has been the choice of OEMs like Mercedes-Benz and Porsche. "V105 provides a unique blend of performance and comfort, with its matrix body ply structure and mound profile blocks provide impeccable steering response and stability, whereas silent sipe and asymmetrical pitch variation provides a quiet and comfortable ride," said Sanjay Chatterjee, GM, sales and marketing,ÃÂ Yokohama India. TheÃÂ companyÃÂ would be introducing four sizes in this line-up by expanding it to 13 within this year.
The tyre manufacturer believes that there has been a sudden growth for city SUVs. The company's new Geolander tyres would save fuel and even help in reducing uneven wear and tear caused by stop-and-go city traffic.ÃÂ Chatterjee further added, "Motorists are looking for stature of a SUV and dynamics of a car. Geolandar SUV, we believe, is the best available in the market."
YokohamaÃÂ will be introducing three sizes (17in - 19in) in this line-up by further expanding it to 13 within this year. As it caters to luxury car segment, ÃÂ prices range from Rs 12,000 to Rs 35,000 per tyre.
