2014 Nissan Sunny launched in India at Rs 7.29 lakh ex-Mumbai
Nissan India has launched the facelifted Sunny starting at Rs 7.29 lakh ex-Mumbai for the XE petrol variant. There are eight variants on offer, along with two engine options. The car comes in two trim levels for both petrol and diesel - XE and XL  and while the XV trim is exclusive to the diesel variant. Two optional upgrade packs are available for the diesel XV trim. They bring in additional features like side airbags and leather upholstery. Like before, Nissan is offering a driver airbag, EBD and ABS as standard across all variants.
Nissan has redesigned the bumpers of the new Sunny along with the grille and headlamps. The company has also added bits and parts from the facelifted Micra to the new Sunny like the piano black centre console and upholstery. The alloys are also all-new. There is also parking sensors on the top-end variant.
Both the petrol and diesel engines carry over from the outgoing car. However, the latter has been reworked for added efficiency and performance.
Nissan claims that the diesel Sunny will return 22.71kmpl while the petrol CVT returns 17.97kmpl and the petrol manual 16.95kmpl. The 86PS diesel can be specified with only a 5-speed manual box while the 99PS petrol can also be ordered with a CVT.
The facelifted Nissan Sunny goes up against the Ford Fiesta, Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Fiat Linea.
