Honda Cars India has launched a new V grade on the diesel model of the WR-V crossover that is priced at Rs 9.95 lakh in India. In addition to that, the company has also updated the features list available in the S and the VX trims of both, petrol and diesel models of the WR-V. The newly introduced V variant of the WR-V is positioned between the S and VX variants and is equipped with headlamp integrated LED DRLs and position lamps, front fog lamps, turn indicators on ORVM, gun metal finish R16 multi-spoke alloy wheels, chrome door handles and rear micro antenna.

The 2019 Honda WR-V V grade comes with black and silver upholstery and features 17.7cm touchscreen infotainment with AVN, steering mounted controls for HFT, audio, voice command and cruise control, automatic climate control, push Start/Stop button with white and red illumination, Honda smart key system with keyless remote, front centre armrest with storage console, tilt and telescopic power steering (EPS). The S trim now comes with speed sensing auto door lock, driver side window one touch Up/ Down operation with pinch guard and also safety features like rear parking sensors, front passenger seat belt reminder and high speed alert whereas the VX grade gets leather-wrapped steering wheel, speed sensing door lock, driver and passenger side vanity mirror with lid. The safety features include rear parking sensors, front passenger seat belt reminder and high speed alert.

In terms of powertrains, there is no change in the options 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel or any update in the state of tune. The 1.2-litre petrol produces 90PS of power at 6,000rpm and generates 110Nm of torque 4,800rpm. The 1.5-litre diesel, on the other hand, makes 100PS at 3,600rpm and generates 200Nm at 1,750rpm. Both the engines are offered with a manual transmission unit. We recently took the Honda WR-V for a weekend getaway around the beautiful western ghats of Maharashtra. The Honda WR-V primarily competes with the Hyundai i20 Active as both these offerings are based on a hatchback but get an SUV like design.
