2020 Tata Tigor EV facelift spotted undisguised
Tata Motors had given the Tata Tigor/Tiago a significant update earlier this year, during the shift to BSVI norms. Now, these spy photos suggest that those cosmetic upgrades have also been applied to the Tigor EV.
Consequently, the Tigor EV gets the new face with the wide headlamps, the inward slanting grille with the honeycomb mesh and the reworked front bumpers with the new fog lamp housings. At the rear there is a new rear bumper, along with blue highlighting on the bootlid to differentiate from the conventionally powered version.
On the inside, there is the new three-spoke steering wheel, although the all-digital instrumentation from the petrol car has been given a miss.
We expect the Tigor EV to remain unchanged mechanically. Powering the Tigor EV is a 72V, 3-Phase AC induction motor. This makes about 41PS and 105Nm. Claimed performance figures are a 0-60kmph time of 12s and a top speed of 80kmph. The range is 213 km via a 21.5 kWh battery pack.
The electric sedan has two driving modes Drive and Sport. The features list includes shark-fin antenna, LED high mounted stop lamp, height-adjustable seat and Harman audio system and dual airbags. Additionally, the Tigor is equipped with dual airbags and an anti-lock braking system as standard safety features. The vehicle also comes with an inbuilt warranty of 3 years or 1.25 lakh kms, whichever is earlier.
Prices for the pre-facelift Tata Tigor EV started from Rs 9.44 lakh, after the FAME2 subsidy.
