2021 Land Rover Discovery launched in India, prices start from Rs 88.06 lakh
Land Rover is quick on its mud boots to launch new SUVs in the Indian market, including the exuberant Sport SVR. The Discovery was updated in the international market last year and it has now hit the Indian shores with a refreshed design. Land Rover claims the Discovery to be the most-capable, connected and versatile seven-seat SUV in the world.
Talking of the design changes, the new Land Rover Discovery features reworked bumpers with new LED headlights and taillights. Land Rover has still retained the asymmetrical registration plate that continues to be one of its quirks. On the inside, the new Discovery comes packed with a new Pivi Pro infotainment system, a 12.3-inch driver's display, PM2.5 air purification and much more. Talking of features, it comes with a powered tailgate, panoramic sunroof, activity key with keyless entry, intelligent seat folding and much more.
Coming to the new powertrains, the 2021 Land Rover Discovery is offered with two petrol and one diesel engine options. The 2.0-litre 4-cyl and 3.0-litre 6-cyl engines churn out 300PS and 360PS respectively. The 3.0-litre straight-6 diesel churns out 300PS and 650 Nm of torque. All the powertrain options come mated to an 8-speed auto and standard AWD. The Terrain Response 2 system offers impeccable off-road performance and the wade program helps in water fording. Land Rover Discovery rivals the BMW X5, Mercedes GLE and Volvo XC60 in the Indian market.
