2022 BMW M3 Touring unveiled and will make global debut at Goodwill Festival of Speed
German luxury car manufacturer, BMW has finally introduced the BMW M3 Touring. This is the first time ever that BMW has put the historical M3 badge on any production estate. While the car is capable of doing everything a regular M3 can do, it now offers much more space than its sedan sister.
BMW M3 Touring: Desing and Dimensions
The BMW M3 Touring is 1,903mm wide, 1,436mm in height and 4,794mm long. The M3 Touring has a 2,857mm-long wheelbase. The M3 Touring's boot has a capacity of 500 litres, but it can be increased to 1,510 litres by folding the back seats.
The new performance estate from BMW is designed in a similar manner to its M3 and M4 sedan siblings. The M3 Touring is distinguished by its large kidney grille, sleek ORVMs and aggressive quad tailpipes. The M3 Touring's suspension has been modified by BMW, and it now comes with 20-inch wheels in the rear and 19-inch wheels up front.
The rear end also gets unique to the 3 Series Touring's rear glass allowing owners to load up the boot by just opening the rear window.
BMW M3 Touring: Engine and Performance
The 2022 BMW M3 Touring is equipped with the M Division's version of the xDrive all-wheel-drive technology. A 3.0-litre straight-six engine with a high redline of 7,200 rpm powers the M3 Touring, just like its other M3-badged siblings.
It has a standard 8-speed automatic transmission and generates 510PS and 650 Nm. According to reports, the BMW M3 Touring can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 280 kmph.
Additionally, the BMW M3 Touring just set a new record for an estate by lapping the Nurburgring Nordschleife in 7:35.060.
BMW M3 Touring: Interiors
The differences from the performance vehicle's sedan counterpart are even more obvious as you step inside the new M3 Touring. The BMW dual-display layout for the new M3 Touring sport was originally seen on the BMW IX electric SUV. A 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 14.9-inch central touchscreen for the infotainment system are housed in the single curved piece of glass in the M3 Touring.
M Sport seats are standard on the new M3 Touring, although owners can alternatively choose carbon fibre-backed bucket seats. Merino leather upholstery is standard on the M3 Touring. The M3 Touring also comes with a sports steering wheel and plenty of other M-specific features and equipment.
