2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno garners 50,000 bookings in under a month
The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno has carried on with the success of its predecessor, notching up 50,000 bookings in under a month of its launch. The premium hatch was launched in India on February 23, with booking beginning the same day. The Baleno can be booked with a Rs 25,000 deposit.
2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno engine, fuel efficiency
The 2022 Maruti Suzki Baleno is powered by the 1.2-litre Dualjet naturally aspirated petrol that puts out 90PS and 113 Nm. This pairs with a five-speed manual or a five-speed manual, replacing the earlier CVT. The manual has an ARAI-rate fuel efficiency figure of 22.35 kmpl while the AMT returns 22.94 kmpl.

The Baleno continues to be based on the Heartect architecture but significant changes have been made under the skin to improve the driving experience. Notable features are LED headlamps, LED fog lamps, LED taillamps, standard climate control, a new 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto/Apple Carplay, cruise control, HUD, auto headlamps and so on.
Safety has also been focused on with six airbags and a 360-degree camera being the highlights.
2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno prices, rivals
The Baleno can be had in four variants with prices starting at Rs 6.35 lakh for the Sigma MT. This goes up to Rs 9.49 lakh for the Alpha AMT. The Baleno competes with the likes of the Toyota Glanza, Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz and Honda Jazz.
