2022 Mercedes-Benz C-class unveiled ahead of its launch on May 10
The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class has been unveiled in India ahead of its launch on May 10, 2022. Bookings for the new C-Class are already open and Mercedes-Benz has also recently started the local assembly of the new sedan at its Chakan factory outside of Pune.
2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class - Variants and Design
Mercedes has announced that the C200 and C220d would only be available in Avantgarde trim at launch. In the meantime, the C300d will only be available in the AMG Line, as Mercedes did with the previous version.
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class maintains the same design language as the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class and the facelifted Mercedes-Benz E-Class before it. In comparison to its predecessor, the new Mercedes C-Class is longer, wider, and has a longer wheelbase. The new C-Class features a 25mm larger wheelbase than its predecessor, allowing Mercedes to gain 21mm of inside space.
2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class - Exterior and Interior
The all-new Mercedes-Benz C-Class will have a reworked front grille, sharper LED headlights with integrated DRLs in the style of eyebrows, split LED tail lamps, and wheels ranging in size from 17 to 19 inches. To be honest, from a visual perspective, it does live up to its 'baby S-class' nickname.
The vertically stacked 9.5-inch touchscreen entertainment system that rests diagonally on the centre console will be a significant increase over the preceding generation. Aside from that, the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class will include an all-digital driver's display, active steering aid, a 360-degree camera, linked car technology called 'Hey Mercedes,' and plenty more.
2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class - Powertrains
The 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 204PS and 300 Nm of torque is still used in the C200, although it is said to be 29 percent more fuel-efficient. The C220d and C300d's 2-litre diesel engines now have 48v mild-hybrid technology, which was first debuted with the petrol in 2018.
The C220d produces 200PS and 440 Nm of torque while the more powerful C300d puts out 265PS and 550 Nm of torque. Overall, Mercedes claims that the diesel would return up to 23 kmpl. Across the board, a 9-speed automatic transmission is standard.
The 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class will be launched on May 10 and will renew its rivalry with the BMW 3-series, Audi A4 and Volvo S60.
