2022 Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo launched in India, prices start from Rs 15.99 lakh
Skoda India has launched the Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo. Prices for the special-edition Skoda SUV start from Rs 15.99 lakh for 1.0-litre MT and go up to Rs 19.49 lakh for the 1.5-litre DSG. The Kushaq Monte Carlo gets a blacked-out exterior styling package, more features and a red and black interior theme.
2022 Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo exterior changes
The Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo gets an all-black treatment for the outside with gloss-black grille-surrounds and black air-dam inserts. There is the model-specific Monte Carlo fender badging, 17-inch alloys styled after the ones seen on the Octavia RS245, dark chrome door handles, black roof rails and a contrasting black roof. The rear of the Kushaq Monte Carlo is finished with black lettering, a dark chrome band and black bumper inserts. Specific to the Kushaq 1.5 are read brake callipers. The SUV can be had in two paint options, red and white.

The read and black theme is more apparent on the inside, with the Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo getting an all-black cabin with metallic red highlights on the doors, dashboard and centre console. There is also red and black seat upholstery with Monte Carlo badging, red stitching on the door handles and Monte Carlo lettering on the side sills. New feature additions include the 7-inch digital instrumentation with red-themed graphics and aluminium pedals.
Being based on the top Style variant, the Kushaq Monte Carlo gets features like LED exterior lighting, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto/Apple Carplay, wireless charging, type-C USB charging, app-based connected-car features, a single-pane sunroof, climate control and ventilated front seats. Safety features include six airbags, TPMS, hill-hold function, rear parking camera, front parking sensors and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
2022 Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo specifications, engines
The Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo can be had in all four available engine-gearbox combinations. The range starts with the 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with 115PS and 175 Nm. With a six-speed manual, a six-speed torque converter is also available with this motor. The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol makes 150PS/250 Nm, gets cylinder-deactivation tech and pairs with a seven-speed DCT. The larger engine also gets a different six-speed manual.
2022 Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo prices, rivals
The Kushaq Monte Carlo is Rs 70 to 80,000 more expensive than the equivalent standard variants of the Skoda Kushaq. The Kushaq Monte Carlo competes with other dark-themed special-edition mid-size SUVs like the recent Hyundai Creta Knowght edition, Kia Seltos X-Line and Tata Harrier Dark Edition.
