2023 BMW R 1250 GS and F 850 GS range launched in India
The 2023 BMW R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure, along with F 850 GS and F 850 GS Adventure have been launched in India. The model year update brings a new paint job to the motorcycles. Notably, some models have also witnessed a price increment, which is effective from 27 December, 2022.
2023 R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure
The 2023 R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure now come with a new Style GS Trophy package, which consist of Gravity Blue metallic paint job, which replaces Edition 40 Years GS colour scheme. Apart from the new shade, both motorcycles continue to be offered with Style Triple Black and Style Rallye colours. However, the Ice Grey and Light White colours have been discontinued in the country.
The R 1250 GS with Style Triple Black colour includes cross-spoke wheels, while Style Rallye and new GS Trophy paints come paired with a passenger kit as standard. Notably, the R 1250 GS and GS Adventure carry identical styling cues as the previous models.
The flagship adventure motorcycles are powered by a 1,254cc, liquid-cooled, flat-twin engine producing 136PS at 7,750rpm and 143Nm of torque at 6,250rpm. This motor comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. Furthermore, the pair gets all the bells and whistles, such as a 6.5-inch TFT colour display, LED lights, ABS Pro, traction control, three riding modes: Eco, Rain, and Sport; hill start assist, and USB charging socket, among others. The BMW R 1250 GS and GS Adventure take on the Ducati Multistrada V4, Triumph Tiger 1200, and Harley Davidson Pan America 1250.
2023 F 850 GS and F 850 GS Adventure
The 2023 F 850 GS is now costlier by Rs 45,000 than the outgoing model, while the F 850 GS Adventure comes with the same sticker price. Both motorcycles now come with a new Style GS Trophy with Gravity Blue metallic paint. The former continues to be available in the Style Rallye package, which offers racing blue metallic paint, while the latter is offered with Style Triple Black paint and the Style Rallye package, which comes with Kalamata metallic matte colour and gold-anodised rims.
Like the flagship BMW adventure models, the F 850 GS and F 850 GS Adventure are brimmed with features too. Depending on the version, the bikes get ABS, automatic stability control, riding modes and riding modes pro, LED headlights, adjustable foot brake, adjustable clutch and gear levers, gear shift assistant pro, 6.5-inch colour display, traction control, dynamic electronic suspension adjustment, and keyless ride, among others.
Powering the 850 duo is an 853cc, liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder motor mated to a six-speed gearbox. This engine produces 95PS at 8,250rpm and 92Nm of torque at 6,250rpm. The F 850 GS and GS Adventure competes against the Ducati Multistrada V2, Kawasaki Versys 1000, and Triumph Tiger 850 Sport and Tiger 900.
