2023 Honda HR-V makes debut with striking new looks for North America
In North America, Honda Motor Company recently unveiled the second generation of their subcompact crossover SUV, the Honda HR-V. The latest version of the Honda HR-V was designed totally from the ground up but is based on the Honda Civic's underpinnings.
The external design of the 2023 Honda HR-V is clean, sporty and aggressive, with a striking new grille, longer hood and slim roofline. The vehicle is significantly larger than its predecessor, having a longer wheelbase and wider stance. As per the company's official photos, there appear to be no common body pieces between the new 2023 Honda HR-V SUV and the Asian and European Honda HR-V models.
The new Honda HR-V has a pair of LED headlights with integrated DRLs derived from the new Civic, and a similar wide-set LED taillamp, as well as a sculpted hatch and functioning tailgate spoiler at the back. A new set of alloy wheels is also available for the 2023 model.
A 2.0-litre naturally aspirated engine with 160 PS is expected to be included in the upcoming Honda HR-V. The other is a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine that generates 181 PS. At some time in the future, it's feasible that a hybrid engine will be introduced to the range.
Michael Kistemaker, assistant vice president of Automobile Sales of American Honda Motor Co, Inc. said, "By gaining aspirational qualities beyond its segment, the all-new 2023 Honda HR-V will welcome a new generation of customers to Honda and grow in importance as a gateway to the Honda brand. This new HR-V will advance its position as the segment leader with young buyers, first-time buyers, and multicultural customers."
