2023 Hyundai i20 facelift launched; prices start at Rs 6.99 lakh
Hyundai Motor India has announced the launch of the 2023 i20 facelift in India, with prices starting at Rs. 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The India-spec model comes with slightly redesigned exterior, new wheels, and a few additional features across a single engine option. It is available in five variants, namely Era, Magna, Sportz, Asta, and Asta (O).
2023 Hyundai i20 facelift: Design
The refreshed i20 brings fresh LED headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lamps, redesigned front and rear bumpers, a Hyundai logo on the bonnet, reworked parametric grille, and a new set of 16-inch alloy wheels. Apart from that, the hatchback retains its overall design. Hyundai offers six single-tone and two dual-tone paint schemes with the updated i20. The colour options include Starry Night, Typhoon Silver, Titan Grey, Atlas White, Fiery Red, and a new Amazon Grey including Fiery Red with a black roof and Atlas White with a black roof.
However, The UK-spec 17-inch alloy wheels and three new colours, namely Lucid Lime Metallic, Meta Blue Pearl, and Lumen Grey Pear, have not been offered with the India-spec model. It also comes equipped with ADAS.
2023 Hyundai i20 facelift: Interior
The interior now sports a combination of grey and black colour theme with semi leatherette seat covers, leatherette trim for door armrests, new USB Type-C ports, and upgraded Hyundai Bluelink. On top of all it, the South Korean automaker continues to offer a 10.25-inch touchscreen intonement system, fully digital instrument console, a seven-speaker Bose sound system, leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel, seven ambient sounds of nature, and OTA updates.
2023 Hyundai i20 facelift: Features and safety
The 2023 i20 facelift comes with over 26 standard safety features, such as three-point seat belt and reminders for all seats, six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Assist Control (HAC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Antilock Braking System (ABS), and Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), among others. Hyundai has also given it an electric sunroof, powered ORVMs with auto fold, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, rear parking camera, TPMS Highline, headlamp escort function and automatic headlamps, and over 60 connected car features.
2023 Hyundai i20 facelift: Powertrain
Powering the i20 facelift is a 1.2-litre, inline four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine mated to a five-speed manual or an IVT automatic transmission. It also boats Idle Start and Go (ISG) functionality. This motor generates 83PS and 115Nm of torque. What is surprising is that Hyundai has skipped the 1.0-litre turbo petrol unit for the premium hatchback. We expect the i20 facelift to get the TGDi motor in the future or exclusively with the refreshed i20 N Line.
