2023 Kia Seltos facelift to make Indian debut on July 4
Kia will unveil the Seltos facelift in India on July 4, with pricing to be released before the end of the month. The Seltos facelift was launched internationally in June 2022, marking the SUV's first substantial upgrade since it went on sale in August 2019. The mid-size SUV is anticipated to get a new style and a slew of new features.
Kia Seltos facelift: Powertrain
Although the powertrain specs are unknown, we anticipate that the Seltos facelift will be powered by the same 1.5-litre NA petrol engine and 1.5-litre diesel engine as the current model. The vehicle may also include a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, which will effectively replace the 1.4-litre engine available with the mid-size SUV before its BS6 Phase 2 upgrade. This new engine is already available with the Kia Carens, Hyundai Verna, and Hyundai Alcazar.
Transmission options include a six-speed manual, iMT, CVT automatic, and torque-converter automatic.
Kia Seltos facelift: Design and Interior
The mid-cycle facelift for the Seltos does not bring many significant changes, but a few major design updates. The Seltos facelift gets a new face with a redesigned grille, headlights, daytime driving lights, bumper, and bonnet. The vertically stacked LED fog lamps appear similar to the on-sale model. At the back, the most significant update comes as tweaked taillights with a spilt connecting light bar. There is also a new rear bumper.
On the inside, the 2023 Seltos facelift features a fresh look, comprising a new dashboard, a dual-display setup, revamped centre console, and a new dual-tone interior theme with fresh upholstery. Other interior features include ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, multi-colour ambient lighting, auto-dimming IRVM, wireless charging pad, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, powered boot opening, and more.
Kia Seltos facelift: Features
The upcoming 2023 Seltos will come with a panoramic sunroof, probably the most wanted feature for the Seltos. In addition, Kia is also likely to offer a suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. On top of that, expect the 2023 Seltos facelift to get multiple airbags, ESC, TPMS, hill hold and descent control, ABS with EBD, brake assist, four-wheel disc setup, LED lights, power front seats, and connected car features, among others.
Kia Selto facelift: Rivals
The Kia Seltos facelift will compete with the Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, MG Astor, and the future Honda Elevate and Citroen C3 Aircross when it is released. Given all of the new amenities and a whole new powerplant, expect a significant price increase.
