2024 Skoda Kodiaq details revealed
Skoda is preparing to unveil the 2024 Kodiaq SUV later this year. The second-generation model receives a significant aesthetic change, more features, and, most crucially, cleaner powertrain options like as mild- and strong-hybrids. Over the previous few weeks, the Czech manufacturer has been releasing little snippets of information about the new Kodiaq, including teaser photographs of the pre-production prototype.
2024 Skoda Kodiaq: Design and Dimensions
The second-generation Kodiaq is 4,758mm long, 1,864mm wide, 1,657mm tall, and has a 2,791mm wheelbase. Third-row passengers are now also expected to enjoy additional headroom.
Based on what we can see in these official photographs, the new Skoda Kodiaq's design is more of an evolution than the present model. The SUV will get a new grille that looks similar to the Slavia and Kushaq but with stronger, vertical slats.
As predicted, the Kodiaq retains the spilt headlight design and now includes a matrix LED unit. The front bumper is equipped with a radar sensor, implying that it will include an ADAS suite.
2024 Skoda Kodiaq: Powertrains
The Kodiaq will soon be available with a plug-in hybrid powertrain that has a 150hp, 1.5-litre TSI engine and a 25.7kWh battery. It will produce 204hp when combined and will be connected to a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. According to Skoda, the Kodiaq iV plug-in hybrid would have a range of more than 100 kilometers but will only be a front-wheel drive.
For customers who would prefer AWD, there's a 2.0-litre TSI with 204PS and a 7-speed DSG. There's also a 2.0-litre diesel engine with 204PS and all-wheel drive. The same engine is also available in an FWD variant with 153PS.
2024 Skoda Kodiaq: Interiors
According to Skoda, the Kodiaq will continue to be available in 5 and 7-seat versions. The second iteration of the Kodiaq will include a big 12.9-inch touchscreen entertainment system and a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, a steering-wheel-mounted gearshift lever, manual and digital controls, and a neat, well-organized centre console.
The current Skoda Kodiaq is priced from Rs 37.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and in a choice of three variants: Style, Sportline, and Laurin & Klement (L&K).
