2025 Defender V8 launched in India at Rs 1.39 crore
Jaguar Land Rover has just launched the V8-powered Defender in India, and customers can continue to have this engine across all body styles. The V8 Defenders were discontinued last year, and the brand has now returned the 5.0-litre units. Prices for the Defender V8 start from Rs 1.39 crore (ex-showroom).

Defender 110 5.0 V8 Petrol X-Dynamic HSE: Rs 1.39 crore
Defender 90 5.0 V8 Petrol X: Rs 1.42 crore
Defender 110 5.0 V8 Petrol X: Rs 1.49 crore
Defender 130 5.0 V8 Petrol X-Dynamic HSE: Rs 1.54 crore
Defender 130 5.0 V8 Petrol X: Rs 1.64 crore
While the 3.0-litre diesel and 2.0-litre are still on sale and are very popular in the Indian market, the 5.0-litre V8 engine makes a comeback with a power output of 426PS and 610Nm of torque. The Defender V8 110 and 130 are now offered in 2 different variants: X-Dynamic HSE and X while the 90 is only offered in X-Dynamic HSE.
The Defender is also offered with a 3.0-litre diesel engine across the 90, 110 and 130 body styles and X-Dynamic HSE, X and Sedona Edition variants. The 2.0-litre petrol unit though is just restricted to the 110 X-Dynamic HSE variant.
Along with 20-inch wheels and all-terrain tyres, the Defender V8 is equipped with an electronic air suspension and a Terrain Response system as standard. The Defender 130 has a leather upgrade and both 7- and 8-seater configurations are available in 2+2+3 and 2+3+3 configurations, respectively.
The front seats of the 2025 Defender include 14-way electronic adjustment with heating and ventilation features, and the upholstery is Windsor leather with an ebony pattern. A panoramic sunroof, an all-digital driver's display, and an 11.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system are other interior features. Additional amenities such as a soft-close tailgate, front centre console refrigerator box, and Meridian sound system are available as optional packs.
