2025 KTM 1390 Super Adventure S: What's new?
Following the debut of its flagship adventure motorcycle, the 1390 Super Adventure S Evo, KTM, has now revealed the 2025 1390 Super Adventure S, a touring-friendly sport adventure motorcycle. Positioned below the top-tier and more hard-core S Evo, the "S" in its name signifies a street-oriented adventure model. The 1390 Super Adventure S will be available at authorised KTM dealers in Western markets in early 2025.
2025 KTM 1390 Super Adventure S Design & Ergonomics
For 2025, the 1390 Super Adventure S receives a major design overhaul, closely mirroring the aesthetics of the S Evo. The frame has been updated to improve stiffness, resulting in enhanced handling and stability. The footpeg position has been lowered by 8mm and widened by 10mm to boost rider comfort.
The 1390 Super Adventure S shares the WP Semi-Active Technology (SAT) suspension with the S Evo. This system, tuned for precision, ensures consistent damping behavior at higher frequencies using new Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) sensors and a revised through-rod fork construction for refined handling dynamics.
The braking system has been upgraded with Brembo monobloc callipers gripping 320mm discs at the front, and a two-piston, fixed calliper operating on a 267mm single disc at the rear. Unlike the S Evo, which is equipped with Dunlop Trailmax Meridian tyres, the 1390 Super Adventure S comes with standard Dunlop Meridian tyres on the same 19- and 17-inch alloy wheels.
2025 KTM 1390 Super Adventure S Engine Specifications
Both the S and S Evo are powered by a reworked 1,350cc twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, producing 173PS at 9,500rpm and 145Nm of torque at 8,000rpm, paired with a six-speed gearbox. The S also offers the option to upgrade to the AMT transmission at an additional cost.
Compared to the S Evo, the 1390 Super Adventure S features a traditional manual gearbox with a mechanical clutch lever, while the S Evo introduced KTM's new AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) system.
The engine incorporates redesigned components and KTM's Camshift technology, which enhances ridability at low RPMs, boosts peak performance, and reduces emissions and fuel consumption. This technology uses variable valve timing with two cam profiles, adjusting to provide more gas flow at higher revs for better performance, while optimizing valve timing and lift at lower revs for improved ridability in urban conditions and on fast roads.
2025 KTM 1390 Super Adventure S Features
KTM has equipped the 1390 Super Adventure S with advanced electronics, including a new V80 portrait-mount touchscreen, updated riding modes, phone connectivity, a six-axis IMU, traction control, and cornering ABS. Optional features include Adaptive Cruise Control, which now integrates Brake Assistance, Collision Warning, and Distance Warning.
