Aston Martin unveils new Vanquish sports car
Aston Martin has unveiled its new sports car, the Vanquish. The Vanquish gets a 6.0-litre V12 engine which has been upgraded to produce 573PS of power and 620Nm of torque. A Touchtronic 2 six-speed automatic gearbox handles transmission duties. Aston Martin claims that the Vanquish can do 0-100kmph in 4.1s and hit a top speed of 293kmph. The figures say that this is Aston's second fastest car behind the limited edition One-77 supercar.
The Vanquish has a familiar Aston Martin design language with styling cues like the side strakes, elongated waist and LED rear light blades inspired from the One-77. There is a new aero duct on the boot lid which counteracts lift at the car's rear when travelling at high speeds. Every body panel in the car is made from carbon-fibre and has 25 per cent more torsional rigidity than before. The cabin has been redesigned and is now claimed to be more spacious as well. The boot space is pegged at 368 litres, which is 60 per cent larger than that of the DBS. The new Vanquish will be sold in 2+2 or 2+0 seating configurations. Starting at a recommended retail price of Rs 1.66 crore, the first deliveries will begin in UK and Europe in late 2012.
