Ather, Google partner to show chargers & real-time updates on Google Maps
Ather Energy has partnered with Google to introduce a feature that shows the real-time availability of electric two-wheeler charging stations. Having real-time status updates on available charging stations, users will be able to plan their trips in advance and reduce range anxiety.
This new update aligns with Ather's Trip Planning feature, allowing users to plan their route and identify charging stations in advance. This makes charging an electric scooter outside the home more convenient and reduces the risk of running out of battery on the road. The update allows riders to navigate directly to an available charging station, saving time and avoiding the inconvenience of finding an occupied charging point. The feature addresses a key need for electric vehicle users.
This will also be beneficial for two-wheeler EV owners who do not have an Ather scooter. For this, the users will have to select LECCS as their default connector on Google Maps to find a suitable charging point. Meanwhile, Ather has 1,973 charging stations across India as of 30 March, 2024. In fact, the app will notify users when Ather or LECCS installs a new charger
