Ather has achieved a milestone of installing over 1,000 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, also known as Ather Grids, across 80 cities in India. The electric scooter manufacturer has now made an announcement to install more than 2,500 EV charging stations in the country by the end of this year.

As claimed, Ather has the largest two-wheeler EV fast charging network in India with 60 per cent of installation located in Tier-II and Tier-III. It has strategically placed its EV charging points in the cities that enable intercity travel. With this, Ather electric scooter owners can plan rides between Pune-Mumbai, Coimbatore-Ooty, and Darjeeling-Siliguri, among others, says the brand. Notably, these chargers can charge electric vehicles at 1.5km per minute.

Ather EV charging stations are accessible via the Ather Grid app, which is available on iOS and Android. This app allows users to locate and check the availability of the nearest chargers in real time. Both electric two- and four-wheelers can use Ather charging stations. It is to be noted that EV owners can recharge their EVs free of charge at these charging points until March 2023.

In other news, Ather Energy recorded the highest-ever monthly sales as it delivered 12,419 units in January 2023. In order to meet the rising demand, it recently opened its second manufacturing facility in Hosur. Apart from that, Ather has over 100 touchpoints in 80 cities. It aims to expand its dealership network to 150 touchpoints in 100 cities by the end of March this year.
