Audi e-tron and e-tron Sportback to be available with 8-year battery warranty, 4/5-year service packages and buy-back assurance

With the launch of what will be India's most spacious luxury electric vehicle, the Audi e-tron and its SUV-coupe sibling, the Audi e-tron Sportback, coming up on July 22nd, Audi has also revealed a slew of ownership packages that should help ease the transition into EV ownership. Heading the list is the standard 8-year/1.6 lakh kilometre battery warranty, with a standard 2-year warranty that can be extended up to five years in total. Along with which, Audi e-tron/e-tron Sportback customers will receive five years of roadside assistance complimentary. Audi also claim a best-in-class buyback up to three years from the date of purchase of the vehicle.

Additionally, Audi will offer e-tron and e-tron Sportback customers service plans coverage from a period of two to five years, and comprehensive service plans for a period of four or five years, with coverage over the cost of services and periodic maintenance including brakes and suspension. Audi also says trained and certified manpower will be available across its service network for the upkeep and maintenance of these electric vehicles.

To reiterate, the Audi e-tron will be available in two powertrain variants and two body styles, with the e-tron SUV available in 50 variant with a 71kWh battery pack and 310PS/540Nm twin-electric motor powertrain with quattro all-wheel drive, or a 55 variant with a 95kWh battery pack and 408PS/664Nm powertrain with quattro. The Audi e-tron Sportback SUV-coupe body style will only be available in the more powerful 55 variant. All Audi e-tron/e-tron Sportback models will offer Matrix LED lighting, four-zone climate control, and adaptive air suspension as standard. Accordingly we expect pricing on the Audi e-tron range to start at Rs 1 crore, going up to Rs 1.2 crore for the range-topping Audi e-tron 55 which we've driven (all prices ex-showroom).
