Bentley Flying Spur to launch in India on October 1
The new Bentley Flying Spur will have its Indian launch on October 1. Although based on the Continental GT platform, the new Spur is a completely new design compared to its older version. It is also the most powerful four-door Bentley ever made.
On the outside, the front fascia has changed. Twin headlamps adorn a wide chrome grille, the car is lower and longer, sides are well-defined and the rear gets rectangular lamps with LED cluster and chrome detailing. On the inside, Bentley claims 600 new parts. There is four or five-seat layout option. The roof can be in leather or glass and specific changes have been made to keep cabin noise to a minimum. There is a 10inch screen for the rear passengers and also a Touch Screen Remote (TSR) that works as a universal remote for the Bentley interiors. The car is also capable of providing smartphones with remote-control like features.
The new Flying Spur is powered by a massive 6-litre twinturbo W12 engine that is good for a whopping 625PS of max power and 800Nm of peak torque. It does a 0-100kmph time of 4.6 seconds and tops out at 322kmph. The engine is synced to an 8-speed ZF transmission. The suspension has been tweaked for comfort. The spring rates are softer and so are the bushes. The anti-roll bars are also less rigid. 19inch alloys are standard to the Spur.
The Flying Spur is positioned above regular premium cars like the Audi A8 and Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
