BMW 3 Series Sedan and Touring updated for 2025
The 2025 BMW 3-Series and Touring have debuted, with significant changes such as new powertrains, style, and technology. In India we only get the Sedan veriosn of the car and this updated model should debut in India later this year.
2025 BMW 3 Series: Exterior and Interior
From the outside, it's almost impossible to discern what is new. There are some new colours though. The colours are Arctic Race Blue metallic and Fire Red metallic, with the latter exclusively available with the M Sport option. Models equipped with the M Sport package (optional on 330i models, standard on M340i) receive new 19-inch M alloy wheels, while the newest BMW Individual 19-inch alloy wheels in Y-spoke design (Style 1038i) with a dual-tone design are available across the board.
Inside, the 2025 BMW 3-Series receives more updates, including a redesigned two-spoke steering wheel for the 330i and a flat-bottom three-spoke steering wheel for the m340i and 330i with M Sport package. The dashboard will also get new ambient lighting surrounding the air vents and a revised infotainment system with simplified menu structures to make functions simpler to reach. The new 3 Series features BMW iDrive and QuickSelect, now based on BMW Operating System 8.5.
2025 BMW 3 Series: Powertrains
There are still a variety of petrol, diesel, and plug-in hybrid powertrain options available. The plug-in hybrid versions feature a new high-voltage battery that provides 19.5 kWh of useful energy up from 12 kWh. The eDrive Gen5 battery gives longer electric-only range up to 101 km and now enables three-phase AC charging at up to 11 kW, with a full charge requiring two hours and 15 minutes. Diesel and M Performance variants continue to come with 48-volt mild hybrid technology. The 2.0-liter turbo and electric motor in the 330e versions provide a total system output of 292PS.
The remainder of the powertrain lineup remains intact, with the exception of the 330i and M340i. The 2.0-liter turbo in the 330i has been upgraded, including camshaft control, injection, ignition system, and exhaust gas routing. The M340i now available with a mild-hybrid system. The 3.0-liter turbo inline-six still produces 374PS and 500Nm, but the 48v system generates an additional 11PS.
Currently on offer in India is the 330Li M Sport, 33Li M Sport Pro Edition and 320 Ld M Sport and prices start from Rs 60.60 lakh (ex-shworoom). The M34oi xDrive is also available at Rs 72.90 lakh (ex-showoroom).
