BMW 7-series and i7 to make Indian debut on January 7
On January 7, 2023, BMW will host its second Joytown of the year. The BMW 7 Series and BMW i7, two new models for the Indian market, will be unveiled at this event, much as the previous one on December 10.
The seventh-generation BMW 7 Series made its debut this year and is a significant improvement over its forerunner in terms of tech and performance. It is more sumptuous than its predecessor and is built on the CLAR platform. The design language has undergone significant alteration, with the enormous new kidney grille and split headlights commanding all the attention.
The saloon maintains its extended aspect thanks to the flat bonnet and strong shoulder line. On the i7, styling components are comparable as well, however, the latter distinguishes itself with blue accents. On the new 7 Series, BMW provides a selection of 20-inch alloy wheels with the option to upgrade to 21-inch wheels.
The BMW i7 carries a dual-motor setup that together outputs 544PS, enough to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just over 4.5 seconds. On a full charge, the 101.7kWh battery pack provides a WLTP-tested range of 590-625km.
Three engine options are anticipated for the new generation BMW 7 Series built for the Indian market. This most certainly includes the in-line, 3.0-liter, 300PS diesel. Additionally, a 3.0 litre straight-six petrol engine with 380PS and a 4.4 litre twin-turbo V8 engine with 544PS will be available.
The car's interior features a 14.9-inch touchscreen entertainment system and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. It has a brand-new steering wheel with a flat bottom, touch-sensitive controls on the centre console, a gear selector, and the standard iDrive controller.
The new model's enormous 31-inch 8K roof-mounted theatre screen and 5.5-inch touchscreens located on the rear door handles are among its attractions. With the push of a button, the movie screen swings down from the roof and has online connectivity so you can watch your favourite shows while you're on the go. With stunning details, leather upholstery, modern materials, and a variety of textures, the interior is further spruced up. Four of the 18 in-car speakers that come standard in the new 7 Series and i7 are built into the headliner to provide complete 4D audio functionality.
