BMW Group India achieves record-breaking annual sales in 2023

BMW Group India concluded 2023 with a remarkable achievement, securing its highest-ever annual sales for all three brands â€" BMW, MINI, and BMW Motorrad. Between January to December, the group delivered 14,172 vehicles (including BMW and MINI) and 8,768 motorcycles. To be specific, BMW sold 13,303 units, while MINI recorded 869 units in sales.

The year ended up with a stellar performance, witnessing the highest sales for BMW, MINI, and BMW Motorrad in the fourth quarter â€" BMW at 4,306 units (a 41 per cent increase), MINI at 287 units (a 54 per cent increase), and BMW Motorrad at 1,990 units (a 3 per cent increase). The Q4 also marked the best-ever quarter for BMW and MINI, with December 2023 achieving the highest-ever monthly sales for both brands.

BMW, for the second consecutive year, achieved a three-fold growth with 1,474 units. As claimed, the iX SUV remained the top-selling luxury electric vehicle in India. The brand also offers the i7, iX, i4, and iX1, along with the MINI SE.

BMW India registered an 18 per cent growth in the previous calender year. Whereas, the BMW Luxury Class, comprising models, such as the 7 Series, i7, X7, and X, reported a massive 88 per cent growth. In fact, the 7 Series recently secured the 'Premium Car Award 2024' at the Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) awards. On the other hand, the SUV segment contributed 54 per cent to annual sales and gained a 24 per cent growth, with the new X1 emerging as the highest-selling SUV.

In the MINI India segment, a 22 per cent growth was recorded. The Countryman was the best-seller last year, accounting for a 55 per cent of the overall sales. In addition, sales for the electric 3-Door Cooper SE doubled, making that the second-highest selling MINI model at 28 per cent. Further, BMW Motorrad India reported a 20 per cent growth, selling 8,768 units. The BMW G 310 models registered a growth of 19 per cent and constituted for 88 per cent of the total sales.
