BMW M4 CS India launch on October 4
BMW India will launch the more extreme version of the M4 on October 4. The car will come to Idia as a CBU and keeping in mind the standard M4 is priced at Rs 1.53 crore (ex-showroom) and the CS variant comes with several mechanical upgrades, we expect the car to be priced closer to the Rs 2 crore price tag.
The BMW M4 Competition M xDrive is powered by the TwinPower Turbo S58 six-cylinder in-line petrol engine with 530PS and 650Nm of torque. The CS takes the power up by 20PS but the torque number stays the same. With the help of xDrive and an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission, BMW claims the CS will to 0 to 100kph sprint in 3.4 seconds, which is 0.1 seconds faster than the standard car.
The M4 CS is about 20 kilograms lighter than the standard car. BMW claims to have saved all that weight by using titanium for the exhaust silencer, a carbon fibre roof and carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) in places like the bonnet, front splitter, front air intakes, exterior mirror caps, rear diffuser, centre console and even in the M Carbon bucket seats. The chassis has also been tuned precisely for better handling and stiffer springs.
It even gets lightweight wheels (19-inch at the front axle and 20-inch at the rear) with Michelin tyres but BMW also offers a more high-performance track-day tyre as a no-cost option. M Compound brakes with callipers painted in a choice of Red or Black come as standard but optional M Carbon ceramic brakes can be specified in a Red or matte Gold painted finish.
The BMW M4 CS maintains dual-screen infotainment and instrumentation displays, which measure 14.9 and 12.3 inches, respectively. The system now operates on BMW Operating System 8.5.
