BS6.2 Volkswagen Tiguan launched in India, priced at Rs 34.69 lakh

Volkswagen Passenger Cars India has introduced the redesigned Tiguan, with pricing beginning at Rs 34.69 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. The SUV receives a number of feature upgrades and now meets BS6 Phase 2 and RDE standards.

The Volkswagen Tiguan now comes in a single Elegance trim level, with upgrades including a dual-tone Storm Grey interior theme, wireless charging, and a rear seat reminder system. Nightshade Blue, Oryx White with Pearl Effect, Deep Black, Grey, and Reflex Silver are the new colours for the upgraded model.

The Tiguan is currently powered by a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine that produces 190PS and 320Nm of torque. The engine is coupled to a seven-speed DCT gearbox, which drives all four wheels through the AWD system. The model now has an ARAI-certified mileage of 13.54kmpl, which is a 7 percent improvement over the previous model.

In addition, the Tiguan has an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10-inch digital instrument cluster. The SUV also receives Level 1 ADAS, which includes Assist. It allows the driver to the SUV by pressing a button. The function assists the driver through difficult situations while they concentrate on the pedals.

Safety features include six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, anti-slip regulation (ASR), EDL, start assist, descent control, TPMS, and driver alert systems.

Customers will be able to purchase the upgraded Tiguan through Volkswagen India's network of 157 sales and 124 service touchpoints spread over 115 locations in India. In India, the Volkswagen Tiguan competes against the likes of the Hyundai Tucson, Citroen C5 Aircross, and Skoda Kodiaq.
