CEAT ISRL to spearhead Rs 150 crore investment to promote racing league

The CEAT Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL) is gearing up for an ambitious future with a substantial investment plan of nearly Rs 150 crore over the next three years. This investment plan aims to transform the landscape of motorsports in India, focusing on the development of world-class racing infrastructure and grassroots programs. In addition, ISRL plans to organise racing events across the country in the coming three years.

With this significant investment, ISRL intends to carve out a prominent space for motorsports enthusiasts in India. The move comes in the wake of the recent success of the Bharat MotoGP that marks a new era in motorcycle racing in the country. Further, CEAT Indian Supercross Racing League plans to capitalise on the popularity and enthusiasm surrounding the event, elevating Supercross to the status of premier motorsport and expanding its reach to a broader audience.

As per CEAT ISRL's roadmap, the league is preparing for its inaugural season, scheduled for December 2023. Originally planned for October, the season start was pushed back due to a scheduling conflict with the ICC Cricket World Cup. The first season of the league will feature races at various venues, with plans to expand to six venues in the following season.

Rider registrations are currently open, with 75 riders already registered to form a talent pool for team selection. The league plans to debut with 6-8 teams in its inaugural season, with ambitions to increase the number to 8-10 teams in subsequent seasons.

The CEAT ISRL rider pool boasts South African and Australian Supercross champions, along with other international riders, adding a global dimension to the event. More details, including rider and team names, will be unveiled in the coming weeks.

The inaugural season of the CEAT Indian Supercross Racing League promises heart-pounding action and intense competition. It will feature four thrilling racing categories: 450cc international riders only, 250cc international riders only, 250cc India-Asia mix, and 85cc junior class. The league is poised to redefine Supercross racing in India and ignite the passion of motorsports enthusiasts nationwide.
