Citroen C3 Turbo variants launched, prices start from Rs 8.28 lakh

Citroen India has released pricing for the new C3 Turbo Shine model, which begins at Rs 8.80 lakh. This trim level was formerly only available with a naturally aspirated engine but is now available with a turbo-petrol engine. Citroen India has also announced that the whole C3 lineup, including the naturally aspirated 1.2-litre petrol engine, is now RDE compliant.

The same 110PS 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine powers the C3 Turbo, which has been improved to meet E20 fuel compliance. It also has idle start-stop technology, which theoretically increases fuel efficiency, and is rated at 19.3kmpl. There is no automatic gearbox available yet, but it does have a 6-speed manual transmission.

Electrically adjustable ORVMs, front fog lamps, skid plates on the rear bumper, front fog lamps, 15-inch alloy rims, a rear parking camera, a rear defogger, and a rear wash and wiper are standard on the new top-spec C3 Turbo Shine. These new amenities join the current ones, which include a manual air conditioner and a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

The additional safety features in the C3 Turbo, includes electronic stability control, hill-hold, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. These new features are only available on turbo-petrol models. The C3's previous safety package comprised the essentials, like twin airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors.

The Citroen C3 continues to rival models such as the Tata Punch, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, and the upcoming Hyundai Exter.
