French carmaker Citroen and EV charging solution provider Jio-bp have partnered to create an electric vehicle charging infrastructure and services across its network in India. Alongside this announcement, Citroen also confirmed the launch of the all-electric eC3 in the first quarter of 2023.

As a part of this partnership agreement, Jio-bp will set up DC fast chargers in phased-manner at select key dealerships and workshops of the brand in the country. The charging points will be open to the public and other EV owners in order to accelerate EV adoption. Notably, the charger installed by Jio-bp will be accessible via the My Citroen Connect app. This app should allow EV owners to start/stop charging sessions, monitor recharging activity, and make a payment or top-up the in-app wallet.

Furthermore, the all-new Citroen eC3 will arrive in India by March this year. The eC3 will be identical to the on-sale C3 in terms of exterior and interior design. Additionally, it will likely feature the same or new flashy paint options similar to its ICE siblings.

Although its powertrain details are unavailable, Citroen could bestow it with a 30-50kWh battery pack linked to an electric motor. With this, we expected the electric hatchback to provide a travel range between 300km and 400km. Meanwhile, it may support about 7kW AC charging and around 50kW DC charging.
