Dark-themed Mercedes-Benz E-Class Night Edition revealed internationally
Mercedes-Benz has now introduced a Night Edition dark appearance package for the Mercedes-Benz E-Class in the European market. The is based on the existing AMG Line styling pack of the E-Class and takes elements from the Night Package available on AMG models.
Mercedes-Benz E-Class Night Edition changes
The Mercedes-Benz E-Class Night Edition can be specified on all E-Class body styles in the European market, which includes sedan, coupe, estate and convertible but isn't available on AMG models. The Night Edition option adds the studded Mercedes grille done in black, Night Edition fender badges, gloss-black AMG alloy wheels, black faux diffuser and a gloss-black bootlid spoiler.
On the inside, the E-Class Night Edition gets the all-balc interior from the AMG Line variants. The interior and seats are done up in Artico leatherette while leather/Nappa leather options are available. The cabin is highlighted by dark aluminium/metallic finish highlights and with open-pore black ash wood. A special aluminium Night Edition badge is placed on the centre console. There is illuminated door sills and Night Edition branded mats to round off the changes
Mercedes-Benz E-Class specifications, engine options
The Mercedes-Benz E-Class is sold in is LWB configuration in India and comes in three engine options. The diesel is the OM 654 2.0-litre unit that puts out 196PS and 400Nm while the petrol is the M264 2.0-litre engine making 200PS and 320Nm of torque. The range-topping E 350d is powered by the 3.0-litre inline-six OM656 diesel with 283PS and 600 Nm. All engines pair with a nine-speed torque converter unit. The E 350d is also the only one to feature adaptive air suspension. Two AMG versions are also available, in standard wheelbase form, the E 53 and E 63 S.
Mercedes-Benz E-Class Night Edition India launch date, expected prices
There is no word yet on the Night Edition package making it to the India-spec E-Class. But with special editions like this picking up steam in our country again and with the E-Class already being the best-selling Mercedes-Benz car in India, an option like this seems viable for the Indian market. The E 350 d seems the best candidate to receive this, given its sportier driving demeanour and the standard AMG Line package. Prices for the Mercedes-Benz E-Class start from Rs 67 lakh for the E 200 Expression, going up to Rs 85 lakh for the E 350 d AMG Line. The Night edition package can be optioned for the equivalent of Rs 4.25 lakh in Europe.
