Facelifted Volkswagen Polo GTi revealed globally with 207PS
Volkswagen has revealed the facelifted Volkswagen Polo GTi, after the sixth-gen Polo received a mid-life update in April this year. The Polo GTi carries on with the usual GTi recipe for performance with incremental changes being made over the standard car for enhanced performance.
2021 Volkswagen Polo GTi engine, acceleration, top-speed
Powering the 2021 Volkswagen Polo GTi is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol making 207PS and 320 Nm. This is paired with a seven-speed DCT gearbox to get the Polo GTi from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.5s and reach a 240 kmph top-speed. Chassis enhancements over the regular Polo include the addition of Volkswagen's XDS electronic differential lock as seen on the Skoda Octavia RS. There is also a model-specific suspension set-up as well as a 15mm drop in ride height. Adaptive dampers are available as an option, which adds a stiffer anti-roll bar and stiffer suspension mounts at the rear. There are four drive modes to choose from as well.
2021 Volkswagen Polo GTi styling changes
Visual changes to the 2021 Volkswagen Polo GTi amount to a GTi-specific honeycomb-patterned bumper with some neatly integrated LED foglamps. The EQ. Light adaptive matrix LEd headlamps are standard on this model too as well as the dynamic rear LED taillamps. Other than this there are the usual GTi traits of red highlighting - along the wide LED DRLs, on the bumpers and around the GTi fender badging. There are 17-inch alloys as standard, upgradable to 18-inchers. Know more about the sixth-gen Volkswagen Polo here.
