Best of 2018: OVERDRIVE's most-watched videos of 2018
2018 started on a high for us with the rush of the Auto Expo which plenty of concept cars, new launches and even the entry of a new car brand - Kia Motors. The year that followed witnessed a slow down for the industry, but that didn't dampen the spirit of the automotive world. We saw some stunning launches in both - cars and bikes alike - so much so that this year's ICOTY and IMOTY awards saw some of the most challenging nominations ever. Unsurprisingly, our content creation teams were working extra time too to bring out the reviews to you in time. What we have listed here are some of the most watched and liked videos from our 2018 calendar.
1. Royal Enfield 650 twins
The 650cc-twin powered twins form RE effortlessly reached the top of this chart. From the content we created in California, to the reviews we brought out to you from Goa, all of it was received quite well. Quite justifiably so! These bikes have taken the market by storm and many wanted to know Shumi's perspective of these 650s.
2. The TVS Zeppelin and Creon concepts
We quite like the concepts that TVS usually brings to the Auto Expo. But this year the Zeppelin power cruiser concept generated interest quite unlike any other concept from TVS in recent years - including the RR310 concept from 2016. It also shows in the number of likes the video generated. Not too far behind on such stats was the TVS Creon concept, which we wish will enter production.
3. Harley Davidson Fatboy and Fat Bob
This was one of those videos that we really enjoyed making. Riding lovely bikes to a hill-station is one of the simplest ways of having fun!
4. Tata Harrier
If the interest levels shown by the internet in the Tata Harrier translates to real-world sales, then Tata certainly has a winner on their hands!
5. Making of the Verna
We visited the Hyundai plant early this year to witness the making for the Hyundai Verna and if you love the sight of cars being put together, then you will certainly enjoy watching this video (if you haven't watched it already, that is)
6. Honda Amaze
The Honda Amaze was launched in its second-generation avatar and it left us quite impressed with its diesel CVT. The weather in Bengaluru was excellent when we sampled the car and that only made the shooting process that much more fun.
7. Hyundai Creta
The Hyundai Creta may be around quite a while but the interest levels are still very high in any content that is created around this car. The facelift that came out in 2018, naturally, generated quite a bit of interest too.
8. TVS Ntorq
The TVS Ntorq is one of those vehicles that completely redefines the segment. TVS took the fun of riding a scooter to a new level by mixing its motorsport expertise with its new-age design language and in that they created a scooter that is unlike any other in the segment.
9. Yamaha R15 V3
The Yamaha R15 has been the quintessential starter bike for anyone with supersport/racetrack ambitions and the version three is a generation-change in the true sense of the word. Shumi absolutely loved riding it on the track and the video shows it all.
10. Hyundai Santro
The Hyundai Santro was received with quite a bit of interest upon its unveiling. Our #AskOD video gathered quite a bit of interaction too.
