The December 2012 issue is out on stands now

It's that time of the month when our latest issue hits the stands. And this month too, we have lots of exciting tests, drives, rides and features to fuel your need for speed for all of December.

It all starts with the new Honda Amaze. Isn't it another Honda sedan with a 'petrol engine'? The answer is NO and infact this is going to be Honda's first diesel powered car for India. Yes, you read it right and the Amaze is coming to a showroom near you in early 2013. Another car which will be coming to Indian shores early next year is the BMW 7 Series and Bert samples it in Europe. A new near-perfect supercar that Bert got to drive is the 2013 Audi R8 V10 Plus. Needless to say, he was blown away by the experience. After the drive, these were his words "The new Audi R8 exists in two planes, super sports car in one, luxury coupe in another!" Shumi had the same thoughts when he drove the 330kmph Bentley Continental GT Speed, "The new Bentley Continental GT Speed is a 330kmph missile. Or a supremely luxurious hand-built limousine." Our TV producer Sandeep also had his hands full with Ferrari's lastest 4-seater, the F12berlinetta. The grin on his face after the drive is yet to be wiped off.

Closer home, Halley got to play with an SUV cum sportscar, the new Porsche Cayenne GTS and oh boy, he is painting the town red with it. The Renault Duster has been a run-away success ever since it was launched in India. The revamped Safari, the Storme has now come to spoil its party. Alan pits the two to find out which one tugs at your purse strings more. In the budget spectrum, Rishaad pits the Alto 800 against its Korean competition, the Hyundai Eon. The Koreans are on a roll, making some very good products. Their latest offering in India is aimed squarely at one of the biggest players in the segment. We are referring to the SsangYong Rexton and Toyota Fortuner respectively. Rishaad, once again, plays the role of a referee. Speaking of Japs, the Nissan Evalia is gunning for the Innova's position in the MUV segment. Will the Toyota's position be finally usurped? Ashok wears the chequered shirt this time. Apart from driving vans, Ashok had some more interesting drives up his sleeve. He went to South Africa and drove a Mahindra XUV500 through various holiday destinations there. Back home, he settled for a three-wheeler. Don't get us wrong as it was no ordinary rickshaw. He drove the exotic Superdry Morgan and has been trying to go sideways on every other automobile since. He is not the only one holidaying abroad. Halley went to Malaysia to discover its secrets and what better way than to drive around the country. Ray drives the new seventh-gen Golf and he opines that it will definitely turn heads as far as technology and driving pleasure is concerned.

If you were wondering there are no motorcycle stories this time, then you are highly mistaken. Abhay straddles the Harley-Davidson Fat Bob and comes away impressed. If cruisers aren't your poison, then this motorcycle will definitely appeal to you, the Ducati Panigale S â€" the fastest Ducati ever made. The new Thunderbird 500 claims to be a highway animal. Well, what the heck! We decide to put it through an extensive road test to see how it fares in the traffic, commute and the highway.
