Lubricating your engine's moving parts to reduce the damage caused by friction and maintain optimal performance, in a timely manner, is always a wise choice. However, it's always important to check the oil viscosity rating that the manufacturer of your motorcycle or scooter model recommends. In the case, I would be replacing the engine oil of my 2013 Honda Activa scooter with the Uno Minda Perfomaxx 10W-30 mineral engine oil. This would be within the recommended lubricating oil parameters for my scooter. The '10W-30' viscosity indicates that the oil performs well in various temperatures. The '10W' means it flows well in low temperatures, which is essential for cold starts, while '30' ensures it maintains adequate protection at higher operating temperatures.

I'd previously read that Uno Minda Perfomaxx 10W-30 mineral engine oil is one that is formulated with additives that help protect engine against stuff like wear, oxidation, and deposits. Now this is crucial for maintaining durability and performance, especially in scooters that witness a lot of varied riding conditions. So I thought why not try it out.

Now mineral oils are a lot more affordable than synthetic oils. For a 100cc scooter, which is generally used for short-distance commuting or city jaunts, the cost-effective nature of a mineral oil like the Perfomaxx 10W-30 can be an attractive option. Just that you'll have to keep note and track of your oil-changes in the future.

Many manufacturers recommend using mineral oils for small-capacity engines, including 100cc scooters. And I find this oil type to match the design and operational requirements of such an engine quite well. I was away from the scooter for about a week, and there were a couple of light rain showers while I was away. On my return I was happy to see my scooter crank up on the second kick, which usually wouldn't be the case. The motor continues to feel unstrained now and even throttle inputs are smooth even after a month post the oil change. I'm lead to believe that this is in fact a very good engine oil to put in to a scooter of this sort.

I'd heard of Uno Minda (formally Minda Industries Ltd.) before, and know that they are into automotive components and engine oil products since the early '90s. So it is a reputable Indian brand if that's the kind which you seek, and for me after this particular instance, it appears to offer peace of mind as far as quality and reliability go. Now the company claim that I'll have to change the oil once again after 10,000km, which sounds good. So I'll be sure to update you on that as and when it happens.

When selecting engine oil, it's essential to consult the owner's manual of the scooter to ensure that the chosen oil meets the manufacturer's specifications for optimal performance and engine health. I did the same for my old Honda Activa and the Minda Perfomaxx 10W-30 mineral engine oil worked out really well for my old, faithful scooter.
