February car sales: Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata, and more
Maruti Suzuki's total domestic passenger vehicle sales rose 10.9 per cent year-on-year to 147,467 units against 133,948 units sold in the corresponding period a year ago. Moreover, the carmaker exported 17,207 units in the previous month compared to 24,021 units in February 2022.
Tata Motors reported a seven per cent growth in year-on-year domestic sales, including electric vehicles (EVs). In February 2023, it sold 42,862 units compared to 39,981 units in the same period of 2022. On the other hand, the domestic sales and export of electric vehicles rose 81 per cent to 5,318 units last month from 2,934 units sold in the corresponding period of the previous year.
South Korean automaker Hyundai reported a total sales of 57,851 units in February 2023, growing by 8.8 per cent against 53,159 units sold in the same month a year ago. The sales figure comprises 47,001 units of domestic sales and 10,850 units of export that registered a year-on-year growth of 6.7 per cent and 19.1 per cent, respectively.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) registered sales of 15,338 units for February 2023, up by 175 per cent compared to the same period in the previous year, where it had sold 8,745 units. The brand also sold 2,503 more vehicles last month than in January 2023, which stood at 12,835 units.
MG Motor India year-on-year sales declined by 7.40 per cent to 4,193 units last month from 4,528 units sold in the same period a year ago. However, the automaker reported a marginal growth in terms of sales in February 2023 compared to January 2023, which stood at 4,114 units.
