Fisker to launch Ocean EV Extreme Vigyan Edition in India by 2023

Fisker, an American EV start-up, has announced to launch 100 units of the all-electric Ocean, known as the Ocean Extreme Vigyan Limited Edition, in India by the end of this year. The company made the announcement through its social media channels. The India-bound model is named after its India subsidiary, Fisker Vigyan India Pvt Ltd. Fisker expects to complete the homologation process for the EV by September 2023 and will begin delivering the 100 Ocean Extreme Vigyan Limited Edition units in the fourth quarter of the calendar year.

Fisker Ocean Extreme Vigyan Limited Edition: Highlights

Fisker has stated that the price of the upcoming Ocean Extreme Vigyan Limited Edition in India will align with the European market cost of the Ocean EV, which is 69,950 euros in Germany. However, the Indian pricing will also include import duty and logistic charges.

The India-bound Ocean Extreme Vigyan Limited Edition is based on the top-spec Extreme trim level of the standard Ocean available in international markets. It comes in three variants: Sport, Ultra, and Extreme. The Ocean Extreme is equipped with a 113kWh battery pack and has an WLTP range of 707km on standard 20-inch wheels. All-wheel drive is a standard feature on this EV.

Notable features of the Ocean EV include a solar roof, a large 17.1-inch central information display, California mode, Limo mode, front and rear heated seats, a digital rearview mirror, and a wide range of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

Fisker India headquarters

Fisker established its India headquarters in Hyderabad, Telangana, in April 2022. The subsidiary, Fisker Vigyan India Pvt Ltd, focuses on software-related development activities such as embedded electronics, software development, virtual vehicle development support functions, machine learning, and data analytics. It works in collaboration with Fisker's product development and engineering teams based in California.
