Ford Mustang celebrates its 60th Birthday with a Special Edition model
The Mustang just celebrated its 60th birthday, and to mark the event, Ford is launching a specifically retro-themed Mustang called the 60th Anniversary Edition Package. In April 1964, the original Ford Mustang debuted on sale at the New York World's Fair. This premium package is exclusive to the Mustang GT Premium model, however, it is also available on coupes and convertibles.
This package, which is limited to 1,965 units, includes a special set of 20-inch wheels, distinctive fender and trunk lid emblems, and special graphics. This package also includes a redesigned grille with a distinctive grille insert inspired by the first-generation Mustang, smoked headlight housings, and a serialized anniversary emblem on the instrument cluster.
The 60th Anniversary Package is available in just three paint colours: Race Red, Vapor Blue, and Wimbledon White. The interior colours available with the bundle are black, grey, and red. Striping along the 60th Anniversary's rocker panels, available in silver or red, is reminiscent of the original Mustang's rocker artwork.
While this option is only available on Mustangs with the 5-litre V8 under the hood, Ford doesn't mind whichever transmission you pick.
In America, a new Mustang Experience Center is slated to debut in 2025, serving as a one-stop shop for everything Mustang - a genuine centre for both owners and enthusiasts. They also revealed the most powerful version of the pony car, the Mustang GTD.
The Ford Mustang has been around for 60 years and has been offered in dozens of special versions, and it doesn't appear to be slowing down anytime soon.
