Skoda released a slew of new designs of the impending fourth-generation Superb in Hatchback and Combi body styles, as well as an announcement that its global debut would take place on November 2. While the cabin and powertrain details of Skoda's future flagship car have previously been published, the company has now shared the first external design concepts.

New-gen Skoda Superb: Design and Dimensions

The new Superb liftback is 43mm longer at 4,912mm than the previous model, 15mm narrower at 1,849mm, and 12mm taller at 1,481mm. The wheelbase is still 2,841mm long. The new Superb wagon, on the other hand, is 40mm longer at 4,902mm, 15mm slimmer at 1,849mm, and 5mm taller at 1,482mm than the present model.

The Superb is readily identifiable, but it now has a crisper appearance owing to Skoda's new Modern Solid design language. The new thinner LED Matrix beam headlights and LED taillights with "crystalline" components for a more premium appearance are among the features. As with the bumper intake, which is accentuated by a chrome strip, the grille looks to be bigger.

The C-shaped tail lighting system is still there at the back, but it now contains separate light parts that can be seen from the outside. The boot lip, reflector panels, and bumper design are all similar.

New-gen Skoda Superb: Powertrains

The next-generation Superb will continue to offer petrol, diesel, and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains. All of the gasoline and diesel engines are linked to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

The standard engine is a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol with a 48V mild-hybrid system that produces 150PS of power. Above it are two 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engines, one with 204PS and the other with 265PS, as well as two 2.0-litre turbo-diesels, one with 150PS and one with 193PS. All-wheel drive is standard on the most powerful petrol and diesel variants.

In Europe, the 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder plug-in hybrid will give more than 100 kilometers of electric range and will be available only in wagon form.

New-gen Skoda Superb: Interiors

Skoda has previously showed us the redesigned Superb's interior. A 13-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 10-inch Virtual Cockpit, a head-up display, and the innovative rotary push-button "Smart Dials" with integrated displays are all part of the dashboard. According to the brand, the headroom and baggage compartment have "grown considerably" in comparison to the departing Superb.

The centre console tunnel has a simple design, with only a few buttons and a tray for your phone, linking to a tunnel that also serves as a front armrest. The upholstery is made entirely of polyester, and the drive selector for the automatic transmission has been relocated behind the steering wheel.

It will include numerous airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), and a slew of ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) technologies for passenger safety.
