Hyundai has been enjoying plenty of success in India with the likes of the Creta, Venue, Verna and i20 just some of the cars pioneering the brand into one of the top manufacturers in the country. We had already reported that Hyundai is working on launching its luxury handle, Genesis in India and the brand has now trademarked its GV80 Coupe SUV which is expected to come in 2025.

India seems to be on the verge of accepting the Coupe SUV style with the Tata Curvv and Citroen Basalt expected to lead the charge this coming August. The Genesis GV80 is available as an SUV and SUV Coupe globally but only the Coupe car has been trademarked for India hinting that Genesis too will be hopping onto this trend.

The GV80 Coupe measures 4,965 mm in length, 1,975 mm in width, and 1,710 mm in height and has a 2,955 mm long wheelbase. It will rival the other luxury SUVs like the BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GLE, Porsche Cayenne Coupe and so on.

Powering the GV80 is a choice of petrol engine starting with a 2.5-litre turbo petrol that produces 304PS and 422Nm. Then there is a 3.5-litre turbo petrol with 380PS and 530Nm. Sitting right at the very top is the 3.5-litre turbo petrol with 48V electric supercharger that can put down a maximum of 415PS and 549Nm of torque.

Being a luxury SUV, the GV80 comes loaded with features and tech. On the outside, it gets the Genesis signature two-line crest grille and two-line headlamps, large air intakes and a wide skid plate, 12 exterior colour options and 20 to 22-inch alloy wheels.

On the inside, there is acoustic double-glazed glass, front and rear ventilated and massaging seats, front and rear electrically operated seats, extensive use of soft-touch plastics and other exquisite materials, a 27-inch OLED screen on the dashboard for infotainment and instrumentation, soft-close doors, ambient lighting, a Bang & Olufsen audio system, electrically operated boss-mode for rear occupants, optional 6-seat layout with captain chairs, plush carpets and a long list of level 2 ADAS tech.
