Here is your first look at Lexus LBX Marizo RR concept - 305PS hot-hatch
Lexus has introduced the LBX Morizo RR Concept in a grand unveiling at the Tokyo Auto Salon. The crux of the concept is that it comes powered by a Toyota GR Yaris and GR Corolla engine. This high-performance hot-hatch concept, born out of the direct inputs from Akio Toyoda, Chairman of Toyota Motor Corporation and master driver. In fact, he is known as 'Morizo', hence the name.
LBX Morizo RR Concept: The Powertrain
The LBX Morizo RR Concept boasts a 'G16E-GTS' turbocharged 1.6-litre in-line three-cylinder engine generating an impressive 305PS at 6,500rpm and 400Nm of torque between 3,250â"4,600rpm. This motor is coupled to a Direct Shift eight-speed automatic transmission. Also on offer is an electronic control all-wheel drive system.
The Toyota GT Yaris with an optional eight-speed automatic transmission was recently unveiled, while the manual stick-only GR Corolla is likely to be the next GR-badged car to be available with the eight-speed automatic unit.
Lexus LBX Morizo RR Concept: Highlights
Every aspect of the LBX Morizo RR Concept, from aerodynamics, body, tyres to suspension, has been tuned for optimal performance. It measures 4,190mm in length. However, the concept is 20mm wider than the standard LBX at 1,845mm but is shorter by 10mm at 1,535mm.
Lexus has given it a Sonic Chrome with Black paint job with exclusive 19-inch wheels. Whereas, the interior adorns the Ochre (a pale brownish yellow shade) colour theme.
